John Fisher King (1809 – 1886)
John was born at Yardley Hastings, Northampton, England and came out to Australia on the Oregon with his wife and children in 1851, landing in Adelaide, South Australia. He was an agricultural labourer and a roadman in England.
He later moved from South Australia to Benalla in Victoria where he was a farmer.
Jane Wyman (1809 – 1901)
Jane was born in Northampton, England and died in Hamilton, Victoria.
She came out to Australia on the Oregon with her husband and children in 1851 landing in Adelaide, South Australia, where they remained until the following year when they went to Victoria.
Jane was always a strong, active woman who retained all her faculties until she died aged 92. She was a member of the Primitive Methodist Church and was known in the family as “Little Granny”.
Their son, William Wyman King, had emigrated to Adelaide in 1850 with his wife Ann and infant son. Maybe William had encouraged his parents and siblings to join him.
